Artist's Neighbourhood
The WELLINGTON WINDS is a 45 piece wind ensemble directed by Michael Purves-Smith that has recently undertook a unique recording featuring all Canadian compositions for the wind ensemble genre. Recorded in June of 2001, an Artist's Neighbourhood includes works by Glenn Buhr, Michael Purves-Smith, Boyd McDonald, Peter Hatch and Derek Healey. Wellington Winds Brass
The WELLINGTON WINDS BRASS is the brass section of the Wellington Winds. They perform under the direction of Michael Purves-Smith as part of the Winds' regular concert season. Recorded in December of 1998, Gustav Holst's Christmas Day was included in a live concert recording called 'Tis The Season, featuring Christmas music from the classical repertoire over the last five centuries.
